BLUE + project

BLUE + project

Mr. Broko participates in the BLUE + project in order to “obtain natural foodstuff colors from vegetable by-products”. This research project, which has a budget of €224,199, has been co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the Operational Program Smart Growth 2014-2020, and the Spanish Industrial and Technological Development Centre (CDTI).

Obtaining colors from vegetable by-products

The objective of this project is to promote research, technological development and innovation, in order to use plant waste generated by plant-based industries.

Between 5 and 50 percent of the raw material that enters the processed vegetable industries ends up as waste in the landfill or is used for animal feed. The low level of waste treatment is a widespread problem throughout southwestern Europe. This is a concern for Mr. Broko, which decided to get involved in this project to provide a solution by transforming vegetable by-products.

The research and innovation that power us

In this way, investment is aimed at innovation and productive investment, encouraging technology and knowledge transfer for the promotion of modernization and territorial balance.
